Office furniture case study: RAF Benevolent Fund London Office

Project:

RAF Benevolent Fund London Office.

Brief:

To space plan and specify all commercial furniture, AV and white goods to a central London office.

Scope.

65 Desks, Large Boardroom, Library, 3 Meeting Rooms, Reception Area, Task Seating and Theatre including Flip Top tables and stacking chairs.

We were asked to supply all commercial furniture and specified additional goods to refurbish one of our longstanding customers the RAF Benevolent fund in Central London. After a few meetings with the customer we could tell they wanted some classic furniture to match the traditional building in Marylebone London, this dictated the finishes which included classic woods, leathers and silver trim.

We space planned 3 meeting rooms, 65 desks spread over multiple offices and 1 large boardroom. After measuring up the rooms and looking over the blueprints we could then dictate how many people could comfortably fit in each space and whether the customer was happy with the layout.

With the customer now happy that all space was being used to its full potential and still being comfortable enough for each user we were ready to place the orders with our dedicated suppliers. The Suppliers were working on 2-3-week lead time for manufacturing so we consolidated all the order at our HQ in Arundel so we could deliver all items together and split into the individual departments/rooms.

When it came around to delivery and installation, we were fortunate enough that contractors and other suppliers had finished their jobs or were not booked in the same day as us. Unfortunately, being central London there was limited parking and only one access in/out of the building. We had to acquire a special permit so that our Vans/Lorries could park directly outside on double yellow lines. There was a small lift which we did use as all furniture was flat packed and safely wrapped to avoid scratching and manoeuvring issues on site.

Overall Clares count this as an extremely successful install and the RAF Benevolent Fund are still a customer ordering furniture to this day.
