Acquisition announcement - The Roman Group
We are pleased to announce our latest acquisition. On Tuesday 1st March 2022, Clares (now The Business Supplies Group) officially acquired The Roman Group, a leading supplier of office supplies, stationery and furniture on the south coast of England.
This is the latest in a series of acquisitions designed to strategically grow our business and customer base across the south. With a head office in Bournemouth and warehouse facilities in Bournemouth and Hastings, the acquisition of The Roman Group will provide our growing business with two additional key distribution hubs on the south coast.
The Roman Group’s owner, Tony Baker, has retired after 43 years in office products trade. We are delighted to have been able to acquire the business, which has been servicing its extensive customer base for over 75 years. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome the Group’s customers to the business and reassure you that we are committed to continue providing the exceptional levels of service that you have been receiving from the Roman Group. To this end we are retaining all the services currently offered by the Group, as well as its team and vehicle fleet.
We are also committed to investing in the business, its systems and people, and hope that The Roman Group’s customers will benefit from that investment as well as the additional range of services that we offer, which includes, managed print services (MPS), print, archive storage and our ever-popular employee gift packs.
The additional warehouses that we have obtained as part of the acquisition will enable us to broaden our delivery range in the south of England and further enhance our logistics. We very much look forward to working with The Roman Group’s customers and introducing them to our comprehensive range of products and services.
